Getting in touch

If you ever need to contact a member of the Throughcare team about your home, you need advice or have a maintenance issue to report, please call us on: 0121 554 3920 (during office hours)
 
When you get through to someone you will be asked a few questions to ensure the call is transferred (if necessary) with as little repetition as possible.
 
You will be asked the following:
  • Your name
  • Your address
  • How they can help with your query/or direct your call. Please state if your call is regarding a repair, your property or a personal matter and you will be directed to the correct person.

Report a repair

It is important that all repairs and general maintenance are reported to us to ensure your well being and the integrity of the property.

Useful numbers

The following emergency services can be contacted by dialing 999 and telling the call operator, which service you require: Police, Fire Service, Ambulance, Coastguard, Lifeboat, Mountain Rescue
 
In case of a fire
If a fire starts in your home get out, stay out and dial 999 and ask for Fire and Rescue Service.
 
If you call 999 tell:

  • the operator your full address
  • details of building on fire, for example a two-storey house
  • details of anyone still trapped in the building and the room they are in
For non-emergencies call 101
​

The 101 service is for reporting minor and non-emergency crimes where immediate or high-priority response is not required, such as:
  • To report a crime, if the suspect is no longer in the area
  • To offer evidence for an investigation
  • To give the police information about a threat of crime
  • To make an enquiry to the police
  • To verify that a police officer is genuine

If you smell gas
​
  • Do not smoke or light matches
  • Do not turn electrical switches on or off
  • Open doors and windows
  • Turn off the meter at the control handle unless the meter is in the cellar
  • Call the National Gas Emergency number (0800 111 999)
Electrical emergencies

Do not approach any hazard, even at ground level. Keep as far away as possible.
Follow these steps:
​
  • Warn anyone in the area to evacuate or stay away
  • Call 0800 40 40 90 our 24-hour electricity emergency helpline
  • Tell us where the emergency is. If you don't know you can describe the area or look for road signs
  • Explain what's happened and what you can see
  • Give your name and phone number
